How do I hide photos in My Vault?

Open an album, tap +, and choose Import from Photos. Pick the photos and videos you want to protect. They're encrypted as they're added. My Vault then offers to delete the originals from your Photos library so they're only in the vault.

I forgot my pattern. Can you reset it?

No. Your files are encrypted with a key that only your pattern can unlock, and we never see or store it. If Face ID is turned on you can still open the vault with Face ID and set a new pattern in Settings. Otherwise, the only option is Forgot Pattern? → Erase Vault and Start Over, which permanently deletes the vault's contents.

How do I change my pattern?

Open the vault, tap the gear icon, then Change Pattern. Draw your current pattern, then your new one twice.

How do I turn on Face ID?

Tap the gear icon and turn on Unlock with Face ID. Face ID must already be set up in the iOS Settings app.

How do I get photos back out of the vault?

Open a photo or video and tap the share button, then choose Save Image or Save Video. To export several at once, tap Select in an album first.

Are my files backed up?

Vault files stay on your iPhone, encrypted. They can be included, still encrypted, in your own iPhone backup. If you delete the app, the vault is deleted too, so export anything you want to keep first.

Does My Vault cost anything?

No. My Vault is free, with no ads and no in-app purchases.
